Over 3000 deportees (mostly Jews and political prisoners) were employed here under forced labour to build a gigantic nazi bunker to be used as a base to assemble and launch V2 rockets against England. The people of this town have erected this memorial and museum to honour the tragedy that occured here and its victims. Some of the weapons on display are shown below.
